Love Island is over for another year, and six successfully couples have emerged from the Mallorcan villa. From winners Mimii and Josh to runners up Ciaran and Nicole; Joey Essex and Jessy Potts also left the show as a couple. But are they still together now?
After eight weeks of snogging, dumping and recoupling, we have a new king and queen of the ITV reality show. And while Jessy and Joey might not have made it to the live final, they did make things exclusive in the villa.
It wasn’t a smooth journey for 34-year-old Joey, who Maya Jama announced as the first bombshell of the season. He initially coupled up with Samantha, and things seemed to be going well, before Grace – who the TOWIE star had been seeing before Love Island kicked off – joined the show.
The pair recoupled, before Jessy then took Joey on a date, and stole him from Grace. The pair then stayed loyal during Casa Amor, and locked things off during their final week. That is to say, they went ‘exclusive’. But where is Jessy and Joey’s relationship now?
Are Jessy Potts and Joey Essex still together?
Joey and Jessy were dumped from the villa by their fellow Islanders, just days before the live final. In her exit interview, Jessy shared, “I couldn’t be happier, I’m excited to see where it goes on the outside.
“First on the list is to meet each other’s family and friends and visit Essex for the first time. Joey is going to take me for dinner at Sheesh and we want to go on holiday to LA and The Maldives.”
Joey, meanwhile, said the first thing he wanted to do after the show was “Visit my friends and family, maybe apologise to a few for keeping [Love Island] a secret for them, and then crack on with life Joey Essex style.” As for leaving the show with Jessy? “Ultimately it is nice to walk out with someone who has meant a lot to me throughout my time on the show.”
The pair have also shared their first Instagram post together since the show, with the caption “exclusive era ❤️🔥”
