9-1-1 Season 8 Set Video Seemingly Reveals Eddie’s New Look

9-1-1 Season 8 Set Video Seemingly Reveals Eddie’s New Look

A behind-the-scenes video for 9-1-1 season 8 reveals a new look for Ryan Guzman’s character, Eddie Diaz. Originally premiering in early 2018, this long-running procedural drama centers around the lives of the first responders at the Los Angeles Fire Department and the LAPD. The show features a large ensemble cast that features names like Peter Krause, Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, and Guzman, whose character Eddie is a firefighter. All are expected to return in 9-1-1 season 8.

Now, with filming underway, Choi posted a behind-the-scenes video on his official Instagram account, and it featured Guzman sporting a mustache. Watch the video below:

The video features Krause and Guzman, with the former seemingly teasing the latter about his new look, and it was accompanied by a caption that reads, “Disclaimer: No actors were actually harmed during the filming of this.”

What Else To Expect From 9-1-1 Season 8

Release Date, Story Details, And More

Even though 9-1-1 was canceled by Fox a couple of years ago, the show has never seemed to be in much jeopardy since its inception 6 years ago. Shortly after its surprising cancelation at Fox, ABC swiftly renewed 9-1-1 and produced season 7, which found huge success. The season 7 finale raked in nearly 10 million viewers, and this prompted a swift renewal for 9-1-1 season 8, which is expected to arrive on Thursday, September 26.

With filming currently taking place, it’s clear Eddie will have a new look in 9-1-1 season 8. At the end of the previous season, Eddie’s son Christopher, because he was distraught over Eddie’s emotional affair, left to stay with his grandparents in Texas. This puts Eddie in a difficult position at the start of season 8. It is very likely that the new season will feature surprise appearances, just like Shannon Diaz’s surprise cameo in season 7. At the same time, season 8’s cast list is expected to resemble that of season 7, with most actors set to return.

Choi’s post from the set emphasizes his return, as well as those of Krause and Guzman. Aside from Eddie, the new season is also expected to focus on other key characters, like Angela Bassett’s Athena and Maddie (Hewitt), who had an emotional return in the last season following her traumatic experience. It is also expected that there will be a major storyline for Buck, who found himself at a crossroads in the 9-1-1 season 7 finale.
