Love Island’s Matilda breaks Instagram silence with first post since the show

The Islander has returned to social media.

Love Island’s Matilda has shared her first Instagram grid post since the show’s live final on Monday night (July 29).

Matilda and Sean were among the finalists of the 2024 season, which saw four couples facing the public vote. Ultimately Mimii and Josh were crowned this summer’s winners.

Sharing a photo of her third place position alongside Sean, Matilda wrote: “This has been the absolute best experience of my whole life, this all feels like a dream…”. The photo round-up included snaps of her with other fellow Islanders – including Nicola, Jess, Uma and Grace – as well as some loved-up scenes with her show partner and resident sweet man Sean.

“I’ve met the most amazing, beautiful people inside & out, made relationships that will last a whole lifetime to now coming out to so much love and support,” Matilda’s caption continued.

She also opened up about experiencing “crippling social anxiety” in the past, noting that Love Island had been a “huge challenge” and that the show had been a “full circle moment” that pushed her “out of my comfort level”.

“I’m so grateful and feel so blessed to all of you showing me so much love and support,” Matilda continued. “I’ll never be able to comprehend…”

She signed off by thanking fans and “everyone” for their support. Love Island couple Matilda and Sean have posted a few updates on Instagram Stories this week too, with Matilda most recently showing off a cuddly toy watermelon.

This was a reference to Sean’s affectionate nickname for her, “watermelon slice”, which referred to him correctly guessing her favourite sweet during one of their first conversations in the villa.
