90 Day Fiancé’s Sumit Singh Breaks His Silence on Jenny Slatten’s ALS Battle: “She Can’t Talk”

Four months after 90 Day Fiancé alum Jenny Slatten shared her ALS diagnosis, her husband Sumit Singh gave an update on her condition, noting she can no longer speak.

Jenny Slatten’s husband is providing an unfortunate update amid her ALS battle.

Just four months after the 90 Day Fiancé alum and her husband Sumit Singh shared she had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)—a highly progressive neurodegenerative disease with no known cure—the couple confirmed she can no longer speak in full sentences.

“I can’t talk,” Slatten managed during a video update with her husband shared to Instagram Aug. 31, with Singh adding, “Unfortunately the ALS is progressing and it’s starting showing more.”

As he put it, “It’s hard for her to talk now.”

Singh—who tied the knot with Slatten during season three of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way in 2021 after nearly 10 years of dating—also shared that Slatten, 68, has begun struggling with walking and her balance.

“I feel like it’s more about Jenny losing strength in her backbone and neck,” Singh, 37, explained. “It’s difficult for her to balance while she’s walking or doing anything.”

Despite the disheartening update, Singh—who expressed hope the couple will eventually be able to travel from their home in India to America for Slatten’s treatment—said, “I always keep my hopes high, I believe America will have something better for Jenny and she can get at least a better support system.”

Meanwhile, Slatten is still independent despite her progressing symptoms. In July, Singh set the record straight how far her disease had progressed.

“She is still able to do walking, talking, and everything, and she is not depending completely on anyone or even not on me,” Singh explained in a July 27 Instagram video. “What you’re seeing on some pages—people are posting that she is on a hospital bed and unable to do anything, which is a lie.”

Slatten first shared her diagnosis in May, noting that her symptoms initially began in December 2024.

“There was a rumor that I had a stroke, but it turned out to be ALS,” Slatten and Singh wrote in a joint Instagram post. “At first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us. We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it’s time to reach out.”

In May 2026, the BFFs podcaster underwent emergency surgery after doctors discovered a large ovarian cyst that had been twisting her organs and causing internal bleeding.

“There was a half a liter of blood in my pelvic floor,” Brianna shared in a TikTok video after the operation. “I have five incisions all over my stomach. They went in through my belly button with a camera so they could find all the blood.”

Nikki Garcia’s Breast Implant Injury

The Total Bellas alum revealed that one of her breast implants shifted after an elbow slam from fellow WWE star Piper Niven during a July 2025 wrestling match.

“It’s OK,” she told sister Bella Garcia at the time. “We’re going to get it fixed one day. I told the doctor, I go, ‘Newly divorced, so the minute the boots are hung up, I’m going to come back to you and we’re going to make these girls look real good, because these girls are going to get some action in the future and that can’t look like that.'”

Lupita Nyong’o’s Uterine Fibroids

The 12 Years a Slave star was diagnosed with uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Oscar for performance in the movie.

However, it wasn’t until 2025 when she disclosed her diagnosis, writing on Instagram that she had been “suffering in silence” for more than a decade.

“When we reach puberty, we’re taught periods mean pain, and that pain is simply part of being a woman,” she shared. “We’re struggling alone with something that affects us most.”
